The concept is to create a digital imaging device which would allow the capture of information in a way that is currently limited to organizations with expensive miniaturized video equipment. Action sports require unimpeded use of all parts of the body, therefore Galileo can be used as a handheld device, but is capable of being worn on the hip with the image gathering lens and CCD attached at eye level. Data is stored on random access, standard digital media such as magneto-optical or DVD drives. A GPS receiver is integrated so that location, time, and date information are stored automatically with the images to coordinate documentation and future repurposing of the data. It is styled with an aggressive to appeal to participants of "extreme" sports such as rock-climbing, snow-boarding, mountain biking, etc.
